4th Mathematics Olympiad in honour of S. N. Olehnik
Extramural round – on 7th of April 2013 at 05.00 pm Moscow time
Full-time round – on 2th of June 2013
Since 2013 the Olympiad in honour of Olehnik will become international. We invite to take part in it not only 2nd-7th grade Russian pupils, but pupils aged 7 to 13 years from all over the world as well.
The Olympiad will be held in two languages: Russian and English.
The participants are divided in two age groups:
1 age group – 2nd-3rd grade Russian pupils and international pupils aged 7 to 9 years.
2 age group – 4th-5th grade Russian pupils and international pupils aged 10-11 years.
3 age group – 6th-7th grade Russian pupils and international pupils aged 12-13 years.
The Olympiad consists of two rounds: extramural and full-time round. The extramural round will be held online.
On 7th of April at 05:00 pm Moscow time on this web page will be submitted the Mathematical tasks in Russian and in English (choose any of the languages). The participants have to send filled FILE till 10:00 pm sharp at the e-mail address: Этот e-mail адрес защищен от спам-ботов, для его просмотра у Вас должен быть включен Javascript or by post within 2 days after the day on which the Olympiad has been held at the address 109129, Russian Federation, Moscow, 11th Street of Tekstilshchikov, 11, Olehnika Educational centre.
How the FILE (.txt format), which must be attached to the e-mail must be filled. In the file you have to:
- Fill the participant card (it will be your registration form for participation in the Olympiad). You mustn’t send the participation card beforehand, but without it your answers will be not accepted.
- After the filling of the participant card you have to write the task answers in column. That means that you have to write after the task number and the point (do not remove the task numbers and don’t delete the points) the task answerin figures and press ENTER in order that the next task number would be in the next line. That is very important because the task answers will be checked by computer. There is no need of comments or additional marks: only the task number, the number is followed by point, then the answer in figures and the answer of the next task in the next line.
- When you have written the answers you have to write detailed task solutions because the best works will be checked manually. No drawings are required in the solutions. Try to give a verbal description at the places where you want to attach an image.
- The file that you have to send to us must be named according to the following rule: the file must begin with the number of the age group 1, 2 or 3 followed by your family name and initials in Latin letters.
Works with incorrectly executed order or mailing terms will not be accepted.
ATTENTION! Due to numerous requests of the participants we are ready to mail you personally the variants of the Olympiad on 7th of April at 10.00 (complete set for all age groups in two languages will be sent). To receive this service you have to send an e-mail until the beginning of the Olympiad at the following e-mail address Этот e-mail адрес защищен от спам-ботов, для его просмотра у Вас должен быть включен Javascript . The e-mail must be accompanied with a code phrase PERSONAL MAILING. We will send the task set to the very post box from which we will have received the request for PERSONAL MAILING. This service is not obligatory because it will not influence the Olympiad’s outcome, this service is made for your convenience.
The extramural round results will be published on our website on this very page until 22nd of April 2013.
Upon receiving your e-mails we’ll publish information about the winners and prize winners NOT changing the results already published.
The task solutions of the extramural round will appear on our website after 15th of April 2013.
All the participants who will have fulfilled the extramural round tasks, will receive per e-mail a certificate of participation in the Olympiad’s extramural round and they will also receive in coarse of the next school year interesting Mathematical tasks (since September till May).
The pupils who will take from 1st till 4th place in the extramural round of 4th Mathematics Olympiad in honour of S. N. Olehnik will be invited to Moscow to take part in the full-time round.
The full-time round will be held on: 2nd of June 2011 (Sunday) from 9.30 till 12.30 am.

Dear winner and prize winner of the extramural round, we ask to send us the participant’s application form (for the full-time round) if you will have learnt that you have taken 1-4 place in the extramural round (you mustn’t wait for our invitation letter). According to the participant’s application form and the passport copies (of the participant and of the accompanying person) that you’ll send to us we will send you an invitation. With this invitation you may receive a VISA. Get familiar with the procedure of VISA receiving in the Russian Embassy in your own country beforehand because you must receive a visa by yourself according to the documents that we’ll send you.
Full-time round conducting programme
1st of June (Saturday) – day of arrival and accommodation of the guests. Acquaintance with the supervisor which will accompany the children since their arrival till their departure. Food ordering and accommodation of the participants (on the 11th-12th of May we’ll discuss per e-mail the accommodation of the adults).
The reception of the participants will begin from 9.00 am onward at the address: Moscow, Kurkino district, Sokolovo-Meshcherskaya street, 29/4,Olehnika Educational centre (Olehnik school).
Accommodation conditions: three-storey building, separate rooms with accommodation capacity for 4-6 guests, event hall, 4 separate toilets, 2 showers. On the 3rd floor is situated “Rest” café, WIFI.
Accommodation offers: the Olympiad participants are accommodated in the school area (summer camp area) free of charge. The accompanying person is housed according to accommodation request in the school area in adult rooms. The accommodation cost for adults is $12 per day.
The eating is in the café in the school area. Café’s working hours are from 8.00 am till 8.00 pm. Breakfast, lunch, supper, cocktails, jelly, pastry are served. Food ordering is made on arrival.
The guests are received by a manager (papers required for accommodation: for the participant – both birth certificate and medical policy duplicates; for the accompanying person – passport duplicate).
The guests are housed and instructed about the accommodation by an educator who is staying at the school round-o-clock. An accompanying person who is not going to live with the infant may leave the child to the educator for the whole period of the Olympiad.
2nd of June (Sunday) – at 9.15 am all the participants including the participants from Moscow and Moscow Oblast meet by the M. V. Lomonosov monument in the public garden of the Main building of Moscow State University (MSU). Under the guidance of the supervisor the participants enter the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University lecture halls. The accompanying persons have free time.
it’s possible a transfer from the dwelling to MSU.
In the end of the Olympiad the participants and their accompanying persons go to the MSU canteen for lunch according to lists which are made beforehand. In the second half of the day an interesting excursion event is planned for the participants.
3rd of June (Monday) – lecture for the full-time round participants is held in Kurkino area (tasks examination), then the winner and the prize winner are awarded with medals and deed. Departure.
Dear guests! This year for those who want to stay in Moscow for several days for sightseeing after the ending of the Olympiad we can give that opportunity. You may stay in the school area till 14th inclusive ($15 per night) and dine in the school canteen.
From 16th of June 2013 will start working our traditional summer camps Mathematics School “Apply maths”and English language camp ActEng.
